How to clean mens hats. If simple water isn t working to clean your hat you can use hydrogen peroxide as a gentle cleaner. Carefully wipe down the entire hat with the cloth. Spray the solution onto a soft cloth. Gently squeeze excess water out of the hat but avoid twisting the brim which can bend it out of shape. Hold it between your hands and gently squeeze to remove the excess moisture.
